Table for Development Length for Deformed Bars in
Tension/Compression
Applicable for Limit State Design
(Stress in Steel Considered = 415 N/mm2 )
Note:
- The above values are calculated as per cl. 26.2.1 IS 456: 2000.
- Stress in steel bars considered is 415 N/mm2.

ReplyDeleteThese are reference values for a fully stressed Fe500 deformed bar in tension. In an actual design, \(L_d\) should be calculated using the actual \(f_y\), concrete grade, bar type, stress in the bar, and applicable IS 456 detailing provisions rather than blindly using a memorized \(L_d/\phi\) value. For projects that require durable and easy-to-maintain surfaces, FRP can be a practical material choice for commercial, industrial, and interior applications.
